Membership

The members of East Bay Business Leaders represent one career designation per member... meaning that we do not have two of any one job description represented in our group in order to enhance the relationships that are built through time and exposure which builds confidence for reliable referral business to be passed between members. Ultimately we as a group want to act as a sales force for each other, but this can only happen if there is trust and commitment, as well as competency among all of our business representatives. Membership in EBBL is based on existing members voting in new members based upon their career classification as well as their commitment and integrity. Attendance to 3 meetings as a visitor is required before an application will be offered. The new member will be expected to make a $200 tax deductible donation to EBBL which will go toward any operating expenses as well as the scholarship fund.

Attendance is not mandetory but is expected. We are a busy group of business professionals and understand that 100% attendance is not likely to be upheld by everyone, but we do expect our members to be present for a minimum of 75% of the time since this is essential for members to learn and grow from each other, as well as to give and receive referals.

New membership in EBBL is limited to career designations that are currently unfilled. Ideally we look for "power partnerships" when filling open spots. Mortgage broker and Realtor is one example of a "power partnership" that works well. Guests are always welcome at our meetings and if a particular career designation is currently filled we always will consider keeping requests for membership on file for future contact if one of the positions opens up.
